I’m Shaelyn Berg, a pre-published picture book writer living in Southern California. I most often go by Shae. My love for writing stories and poems began at a young age. I remember eight-year-old me slowly typing a story on my mom’s prehistoric computer. I love to write playful, adventure-type fiction stories, but my picture book collection focuses on a variety of themes and characters. I draw inspiration from life and often turn to my childhood interests for story ideas.
I currently work full-time at an international nonprofit organization focused on public speaking and leadership. As a content producer, I write and edit educational content for adult members of the organization.
When I’m not writing or working, I’m spending time with my fur child. I’m also an avid half-marathon runner and frequently run local horse trails to train for upcoming races. And, of course, I can always be found with my nose deep in a book or checking out stacks of picture books from the library.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from UCSB.
